Even better...Walk into a Walgreen's or a Best Buy or somewhere else where they wear a blue shirt, and really confuse people! I can't tell you how many times I've had to field a question from a shopper, when I've walked into another store for something...Then, they see the Kroger name tag, and they're like, "Oh, I'm sorry..." As if they just see the blue, and miss the name tag completely...
Another idea...Walk into ANOTHER unfamilar Kroger with your blue shirt on...Customers will ask you where something is, and you can tell them that you don't work there, which is TECHNICALLY the truth, but boy, will THEY be confused...There have been times when I've left work, but then I realize I'd forgotten something, but I'm closer to another Kroger store, so I duck into that store for just one thing (in & out), and then people will ask me questions like I work there...But, I may not be familiar with the store. So, I usually try to direct them to someone who can help, even if I can't personally help them find what they're looking for, but you get funny looks sometimes from people...Anyone else ever get this? Has anyone ever mistaken you for an employee of another store while you were wearing your blue uniform?
I went into the walmart accross the street one time after work and didn't have my nametag or hat on. She was like "Do you work here?" and I really must have confused her when I said no.
"I bought this ham in the summertime and it expired in may. Can I get my money back or exchange it?" that happened today and its like SERIOUSLY? She actually bought it around Easter time in April when hams were coming in for Easter and then tries to exchange it or refund it. I might have some expired food in my fridge... let me go exchange it!

I forgot I had my work shirt on one day when I got off of work and I went to the hospital to visit a friend who had just had twins. After my visit I decided to go to the Kroger next to the hospital to buy some groceries. Well when I got there I kept getting asked where stuff was and then I realized I forgot that I was still in uniform. One woman said she was going to talk to the manager because I wouldn't help her.
