baggers are garbage

I just got hired two months ago and I feel like I'm one of the top 5 baggers already.

The rest of the baggers either have a bad attitude or bad work ethic. When I first started, I was doing a lot of favors for them. But now when I need a favor, no one gives a **** to fill my shoes on the carts for like 50 minutes while I'm doing something more important (bottle room, helping store manager, etc.)

They will start using you for jobs that the 13 dollar full timers do for your 7 buck bagger pay. You will get tired of the BS and quit. Seen this a million times.

Just do what you can. Follow the rules, and alert your CSM if there has been dereliction of duties. You could also ask the manager if you could switch departments if a position is ever available. You can tell them why you want to switch departments as well to give them a hint.

Just don't worry about the baggers. Most baggers are lazy. But some baggers actually do work.

Usually lazy baggers are simply just lazy employees no matter what department they're in.

How close are you to 18?

If you are one of the best courtesy clerks, you should easily be able to escape to another department once you are old enough.

At my store, sometimes courtesy clerks move up the very week they turn 18.

I'm 19, the only reason why I want to stay as a courtesy clerk is that I like working in the new bottle room we have. Maybe I can ask if I can do the bottle room more often

All our new courtesy clerks are all underage. no

We have a couple others though.  One talks instead of bagging and one leaves the cart pulling gear anywhere he happens to be standing.  The other day it was dropped on the express checkout bagging area while express was open.

We have to watch one because customers are always not getting all of their order.  Either someone has to run after them or it ends up with some later customer.  Sure some mistakes happen but it's usually multiple incidents per shift.  I think he's been a courtesy clerk at that store since it opened so he's safe.

I've heard a few complain when a cashier is "too fast."  I heard one say this week, "I was going to help but they's too fast."
