Parking lot wars
Permalink

I had to open one day and as I was getting the carts in I noticed someone pull in and park halfway over the center line. The lady went inside and I figured no big deal since it was early in the morning. Five minutes later another customer pulls in and parks right in front of the other car. So his car is stuck halfway out and at an angle. He decides to call the police on this woman. Of course they won't do anything because the whole situation is total bull****. Some people just don't grow up.no

Our parking lot is like the freakin' German Autobond; people flying around there WAAAAAY faster than they should be, all jockying for the closest parking slots to the store. God forbid they walk any distance and actually get some excersize!

And yea, other than to fill out accident forms for insurance claims, cops won't do anything in retail parking lots: They're considered private property.

Yesterday I was outside getting trash. I was about to go down the ramp on the sidewalk. A car was blocking the ramp driver was waiting on someone. He started backing up did not even look behind him. There was a car behind him he almost hit. I stood there watching. I was hoping he hit it but he didn't. It would have been funny because # 1 he should not have been parked clocking the ramp # 2 he should look behind # 3 there was plenty of room to pull up # 4 he should not park in the fire lane # 5 the person he was waiting on was fat and needed to walk.

And don't you dare get in front of their car while collecting carts, or they will glare at you like you just killed their firstborn

When my Kroger remodeled, we got a fancy bottle room with new machines and what not. There is an outside entrance and an inside entrance. Whenever I have to take out a bin, I have to go through the outside doors and down the ramp to the parking lot. I've always had issues with customers sitting idle partially or fully blocking the ramp. My biggest pain is when customers return their carts on the other side of the cart corral and some moron parks those carts in with his car and we can't get the carts out.

People fly through our parking lot at 50mph and don't slow down at the crosswalk. They are using it as a cut-through because they do not want to drive on the main roads and wait on the red lights.

The other day I saw a woman try to drive behind a Kroger delivery truck as it was backing into the loading dock.  The truck was literally three feet away from the truck well and she was going to drive around the back end of it.  I wouldn't want to see her get hurt but I would have loved it if her car got crushed for pulling such a stupid move.
