I work at a store that was gobbled up by Kroger a few years back. All of our systems and policies are being changed to Kroger.
We had a wonderful store before, and now I worry that Kroger will make it a nightmare, or sweatshop. I am a Cashier and Love my Job, but fear what may happen in the future. We are union, and I have been there just short of 5 years. Are you guys happy with Kroger as an employer?
everyone hates change. but now that Kroger has asorbed your store, it will soon follow. i don't know - some of the stuff kroger does has good intentions and other stuff you wonder who the fricken' moron was who came up with it is. You'll be fine.

Change doesn't bother me as long as it is for the better. Customer service is big to me and I'm concerned that they don't really give a hoot. My store has a reputation of Great Customer Service, and I don't want to see us lose it.
Kroger definitely sucks if you're a bagger. I hate that they sold that they were a good company but they treat us like sh**. Some of my supervisors are good and let you do your job at your pace but some like to be really controlling that just changing the soap has to be run through them first. They get me in trouble for sh** i was hired to do in the first place. For sure customers get screwed if they won't let you do your job just so they have enough people bagging.
