Plumbing Problems!

In the deli yesterday our drains were backed up.  This seems to happen every few months.  The meat shop, bakery and produce drains were fine, but a toilet was messed up in the break room.  Anyway management was notified of the problem on Saturday, and they didn't call it in until yesterday and told it may get fixed today.  They have had problems with the drains all over the store since I've been there and thats been 8 years.  A friend who has been there 10 years says it's been going on at least that long and a long time employee said that our building has had drain problems since it was first opened in 1989 when it was a Food 4 Less.

The biggest problem is the plumbers told management what would fix the problem permanently yet they won't allow it to happen.  It would entail taking out part of the floor in the deli area and replacing some stuff and putting in a proper grease trap.  But that would mean closing the deli down for a 2 days 3 at most and cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 60 grand.  But they spend more having to unclog the pipes every few months but they don't wont to lose sales.  Something about the way the pipes were layed out when the building was first built that causes problems.  When it opened in 89 as a Food 4 Less there wasn't even a deli in the spot that Kroger has one now.  They just tapped into existing pipes.

Anyway anyone else have problems at their store getting plumbing fixed correctly rather than temporary fixes?

If my drains get backed up I typically grab Draino off the shelve and pray to god it works.

Managers don't understand future investment. That's why they are management instead of investment bankers.
