HOW IMPORTANT IS IT, TO ENTER THE EXACT BIRTHDAY OF SOMEONE PURCHASING ALCOHOL ?

Technically, it isn't that important, but if you work in a district that has you sign an alcohol policy monthly, it states on the paper that you will do so.

I just enter in a random date if the customer looks like they're 103 years old.  If they look young, I'll ask them for their I.D.

One of our cashiers got written up for entering her birthday in every single time somebody bought alcohol or tobacco.  Because the date you type in shows up in the system, just not on the screen.

I guess it depends on how strict your manager is.  But I wouldn't risk getting written up over being lazy about asking for I.D.

you're supposed to enter the exact date.  not a random date, not your birth date.

you probably signed something to that effect.

i try to get it right every time although the crappy ipad at uscan can make typing hard
