Everyone in my store is refering to me as a 'slowpoke', with mngmt trying to overexert me just because i dont show it. I do my work neat and finish my work. they want to see someone distressed, i can pretend, but its not me. im doing grocery but thats not my title nor do i want that position, but ill do it to my best abilities and how i find fit. what to do in such situation where my rep outlook from others is low, pretty much store wide? this is starting to affect my hours...
There are 5 things every human being needs - one of them is CONTROL. these people are trying to grab some control over you. its the way of the world. just tell them to f+ck off. DO NOT allow them to get under your skin. As the great rocker Tom Petty once wrote, "I WONT BACK DOWN"

Hours are based on seniority. if they are giving you less hours than the people below you(doing the same job) then complain to the union.
unfortunately hours are also based on "needs of the business", at least that's what we are told here. maybe you have a different union contract.
to OP: if you are not happy in grocery, what department (or a different job altogether?) would work out for you? once you answer that question, the next one should be, how do i get there?
If EVERYONE in your store sees you as a "slowpoke", you may want to look at yourself in the mirror. What if others are having to work harder & faster to get the job done? This means someone out there is having to pick up your slack... how fair is that?
Why would managment give you more hours, when it takes you less time to get the job done?
