Calling off?

So, a while back, one of our employees got fired for calling off too much. And she did call off a whole lot 'cause I got called just about every other day to cover her shift. I just wanted to ask how much is too much when it comes to calling off? I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to the possibility of getting fired, as this is my first job and I'm not sure how it all works.

Three days in a row. They might write you up. Excessive call off will result in termination.

I've only called off once, a few weeks ago because some family stuff came up. But I called the day before I was scheduled. But I have the flu, went to my doctor today and she says not to go to work. I was gonna go anyways, because like I said I'm paranoid. But I decided I'm not gonna go because I've only gotten worse. Describing it would be TMI...

Did you get a note from your doctor? That's generally always a good idea when you've been sick and gone in.

I thought only Elementary, Middle, and High Schools did that?

So now, when you call in, you're automatically lying until you prove you're telling the truth? Stupid.

it's true. doctors' notes are great ways to keep you out of trouble if you get sick.
