Hafta come in late today.

Well, my mom usually drives me to work, but when she got up this morning her car wouldn't start. I'm supposed to be at work at 2, but since she can't drive me as usual I have to wait for my dad to get home from work around 4:30. I called around 11 to tell them I wouldn't be able to make it in until around 5. I was supposed to get off at 10 today. Do I still leave work at 10 today, or do I still have to stay for 8 hours? I don't mind if I do, I just want to be able to let my dad know when to pick me up. My availability schedule is until 10 though because I have classes, so I don't know.

You ask when you get there. If they need you, they need you. If they don't, they don't.

You don't have to stay, but it's best practice to ask if they want you to stay.
