Our Contract(UFCW 700)  expired in May of 2012 and still do not have a new one.  Still working out the health care portion of it.

Isn't that illegal? Is there some kind of time period of forgiveness given in order to comply with federal regulations? Or, are all of the requirements already met and it's just a matter of aggreeance between the company and the union? If your store is following federal regulations, does that mean all your part time employees have less than 30 hours every week?

Kroger and the UFCW 700 agreed to extend the current contact when talks began in May. I am not sure on part timers hours. I am a full time employee.

The company and the union generally always agree to continue to operate under the clauses of the old contract, even after it expires, until a new one is ratified.

I wish ours was like that. We have a new contract and it sucks. It is horrible.
