I demand an efficiency expert to re-evaluate ELMS.

I was told by the end of the month that the Meat Department is going to have to start hanging their own tags in lunchmeat. It seems like they keep adding more and more stuff to our list of things to do, but claim those hours are in our hours. Well, I am going to the union meeting at the end of the month to see what can be done about getting an efficency expert in to evaluate hours. Its been nearly 10 years since they've done this yet they've added more stuff like Backstock Reviews, Cleaning Schedules, etc. They say it only takes 20 hours a week in ELMS to wrap and that it takes 20 hours a week to wrap. Can you smell that bull****? Wrapping is a 48 hour / week job alone.

ELMS is total bull**** for every department. Corporate is technology rich and common sense poor. I'm looking for a new job if they keep it up.

That's like...EVERY DEPARTMENT! I'd LOVE to know where they come up with their numbers! If ELMS says it can be done, then ELMS must be right, right? How can they possibly factor in the intangibles? It's a one-size-fits-all solution to a more complicated problem...What the system says, and what actually happens are two different things!

At least in my store, elms works fine on the front end. Other departments I'm not sure about though...

No, actually, we rarely call any help from other departments anymore. We started doing what we were told we had to and put the relief help only on the register and having them stay for at least 15 min at a time, and lo and behold we started getting a few more hours during peak times to schedule our own help and not rely on another dept.

It is so sad so many highly educated and extremely well paid individuals are so oblivious to the real world and rarely see what is really happening right in front of their eyes.....men of words and not of deeds are like a garden full of weeds.
