I had a co-worker show up with a hangover one time, she wasn't slurring her words but she said she felt like crap and that she moved around so slow the whole day.
I wasn't going to tell anyone because at least she did show up but all I could think was how unprofessional that was. Considering that she isn't even 21 yet. :X But none of that matters anymore because she's leaving this week.
Last week a co-worker showed up to work hung-over, his speech was slurred and could barely function.
He was on the ale register for the entire day and finally was more coherent after several hours.
I dont know if management noticed.
What should I do?
I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as the person is doing their job without putting themselves and others at bodily harm. It can be hard to gauge how achohol will effect you over the night. I mean somebody like me can take 10 shots at 1 am in the morning and be there at 6 am the next day because it affects everyone differently. A few years ago I was invited to a party and I asked my market manager if I could come in 2 - 10 New Years Day instead of being off. He put me 7 am - 3 pm on purpose and at the time I was thinking what a crappy thing to do! Well, I ended up drinking until 4 am in the morning and showed up at 7 am. he saw me and probably knew, but I ate alot of breakfast food and drinks before punching in to get really sobered up.
