I have been at Kroger for about two weeks. I have never been late. Have not called in. I have a son that is sick and I have no one to watch him. Will they fire me because I called in and have only been there two weeks?
Not unless they're really desparate. Some management is kinder than others as well. At my store, you could call-in all the time without repurcussions. At other stores, they're so strict that you're only allowed a certain number a call-ins in a given time frame.

bottom line is that you are ( " I have been at Kroger for about two weeks " ) still on a probation period and they can release you for no reason at all.
