Took them a bit over a month for me. If you have waited a week, move on to better prospects. If they call after you get a different job, say "Sorry, I had to keep looking."

Like after that interview how long after was it before you started working..? I'm asking becuase I was hired 2 weeks ago (Will be 3 weeks this sunday) and its taking them forever to call me for training (Ive called them but the lady claims she's busy and have not set it up yet)
if they don't call you, call the store and ask when you can get started. it's more likely than not that HR is just being pokey, or forgot about you altogether.
I guess things are different than when I started. I filled out my application, turned it in, and was asked to come in that night for orientation. My first day was the next day. Back then they didn't have hiring coordinators or do drug tests. They just wanted warm bodies. Also, everybody started out on the front end. It was only when another department had a vacancy that you could move off the front end. Sometimes I think it worked out better that way. If someone stuck around long enough to be moved to another department, you knew they were a dependable worker.

This is something I'd like to see come back. Other depts take forever to get back to the front end when there's a problem.
I had dairy call, then walk up to the front to double check the product, then say they'd call back when they'd fixed the problem in the gun so we could scan it. SERIOUSLY? Others expect customers to wait too. There's no sense of urgency, no understanding of how things happen on the front end.
