I have heard one of my managers ask other employees and customers to "buy me some chips" She has asked me, "do you get Food stamps? I was gonna ask you to buy me somehting"
one of my managers told me today i was borderline "smart ass" on the P.A. How can I possibly say in a smart ass way, customer assistance needed in Aisle 5?
Report them for fraud, useing or buying someone else foodstamps is against the law.
Or probably something that will work, go to the union and explain how the manager was forcfully asking employees to purchase things for him (probably on the clock) and how he even went as low as "to see if i could get him foodstamp items useing my card".
Coupla summers ago, I had a 300 lb woman standing next to her brand new Cadillac trying to sell me her Link card. She wanted $20.; claimed it was loaded up for $200.
At my store I've seen offering cash for use of employees' food stamps.
She'll also get others shop for her so she can snack on the clock.
It's a terrible example that I'm seeing emulated by younger, less mature employees.
I haven't figured out what to do about it.
I'd go to the union, there are 1000 things that could be issues, from favoritism, special treatment, and sexism, to federal crimes such as useing someone elses foodstamp card. I'm sure the customer service is **** too because of this and her superiors would love to know about it.
I'd do a annonymous complaint to the union, say you dont want to be indentified cause your afraid of retaliation from such a "unprofessional" person.
