Yeah, It's really hard to get by at first unless someone takes you under their wing and shows you what is needed to be done. Don't feel bad about your performance - you will get better. Kroger is very rough on newbies.
Good luck and don't sign anything but your paycheck!
Welcome to Kroger!

Had my first day in the deli at our store. They basically gave me a tour of the area and showed me how to run the slicers for 10 minutes. I was told that there was a huge turnover in the department. I think I found out why.. my two "trainers" came up missing half way into my very first 8 hour shift and I was running the counter all by myself. They were both gone well over 15 mins. There was a line of customers soon after of course.. they were yelling things left and right. Took me awhile just to find stuff. I felt really stupid being so slow but I managed to get the orders out. My "training" paper i got to fill out said I was only supposed to observe that day.. haha. I know I should be glad I just managed placing the orders but I felt overwhelmed and like I was making customers wait. Kind of dread going back. I suppose after a few weeks you get used to the hell. ?
