As a new hire, you don't have any seniority, so you won't get many hours. If you have bills to pay, you will probably need a second job or to donate plasma or something.
You probably should try Costco and other places that treat their employees better, and quit Kroger if they hire you.
You will specifically targeted by extreme couponers. None of their coupons will work. Call a manager for help.
Learn your produce. When off the clock and out of uniform (so customers don't bug you), take a stroll through produce and get a look at the stuff you don't know. There will be more than you'd expect.
I really don't have any choice about working for Kroger. I haven't worked for a year and this is the first job offer I've gotten in all that time. (And I've been applying, believe me.)
Part-time is what i wanted. I don't want a lot of hours because I'm also a writer and I need some time for my writing.
I've had worse jobs I'm sure. I worked for 16 years at the Post Office!
