From what I have been told yes. Might be different on your contract like maybe only a % of that pay.

You need to take you personal holiday ASAP. Depending on your contract you may get paid for your vacation. Check your union handbook or call the union rep or Stewart.

Do you think they will allow me to take my personal day after I put in my 2 week notice? or should I take it before I do that?

I had a relative in the same boat, but we werent a union store and she got screwed fairly hard. My advice to you is to take ALL the time you have comign to you BEFORE you submit any kind of notice, or better yet, since all Kroger stores are hell holes, i would say take your vacation, take your personal holiday and just bounce out to your other job without notice. If you have alot of people that might be screwed over by that, make sure you let them know whats going on or you may have future enemies. My stance is, ANY job is better than a Kroger job. If it pays more, is long term, i'd say just bounce to the other job, screw the notice.

If you never forsee yourself working for Kroger again, just take your time off and don't go back. Kroger wouldn't have given you notice if they planned on cutting your hours, would they? Did they run it by you when they decided to purposely understaff your department while hiring 10 new cashiers?

Yeah, didn't think so. You don't owe Kroger ANYTHING except an honest day's work while you are on the clock.

Good luck with the new job.
