Transferring into a full time position?

How hard is it to transfer into a full time position into a different division? I'm a department lead and thinking about transferring       to a different division. Will I have to basically start over and work my way up or is it possible to find a full time position open? Also the store I'm at is non union and transferring to union so am I basically screwed trying to find a full time position in a store right away?

you have to find an open full time position at a store. they won't just create another full time spot somewhere just because you want to transfer
