how easy is it to get fired?

I have been working in the deli for a month.  A customer complained that iwas using cleaning poducts too close to food. Iwas being careful ad doing what iwas trained to do but the customer was always right so they made us dispose of a bunch of food in the area. how much trouble am ilikely to be in for this loss? Manager is not back until next week.

I would think the manager won't care much. If you are past your probationary period I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Don't you just love customers who think they own the place?

I hope you learned your lesson; no matter what you do, you're screwed.

I agree with the last response..  you are screwed either way.  Clean it..  and you have contaminated, poisoned, dumped chemicals into any food items within a 10 mile radius.  Dont clean it and you are contaminating the food within a 10 mile radius and there is probably rat feces and hair in there.  Oh trust me..  ive heard it all from customers.  Some people have nothing better to do than stand in the kroger store at odd hours and dream up horror stories they can run and tell the manager about..  so yeah.. long story short you are screwed.

You should sanitize/clean the area before putting food out. Not whilst it is out. That's what they trained us to do. Also store cleaning supplies away from all foods.

working in the deli myself, the old rule was that only sanitizing spray bottles are allowed on the stainless and all other spray bottles must be kept down below or away in a safe storage area from any work surfaces.  but just recently, even the sanitizers should be kept away as well.  this is kind of funny coming from corporate brass who once again is changing their tune.
