I've been on sanitation for a couple of weeks now and the person who trained me didn't go into great detail about to clean the bathrooms. I was wondering how you hose down the walls tiles, stainless steel the right way and how to not leave water marks on the wall tiles.
When cleaning the restrooms I always grab a bucket, a flexable head floor scrubber and cleaning solution and jjust go to town. it's much easier and not as wet as using a hose and having to squeegee everything for hours.

I know in my store, you literally need to scrub everything down - including stuff like the door hinges. I'm not kidding, either. I know of three people that regularly do sanitation and the Key Retailing people came in and failed the bathrooms because of the door hinges not being clean enough and the three people got written up, yelled at by the store manager and our CSM too got written up and yelled at. The same day, the CSM told the people on sanitation that he was going to get them toothbrushes to scrub with.
Of course, good luck doing any type of cleaning in the bathrooms when you either got customers who want in every five minutes because apparently very few people nowadays can't go an hour or so without needing to relieve themselves or you've got an understaffed front end calling you to bag, check, get carts and so on every twenty minutes or less.
My store dosen't go that far of an extent about cleaning the bathrooms. They want the morning sanitation worker to spray the walls and stainless steel, mop, clean toilets. I do agree with BagBoy about how hosing everything down is to wet. Plus i've noticed after the stainlees steel is hosed down and dryed there is hardly anytime to put polish on.
You stand in the bathroom and cry for 15 minutes and wonder what's become of your life that you're cleaning a public bathroom. Then you dry your eyes and let them know you're done. That's what I always did! (Pro-tip if there are visible signs of toilet paper or other scraps on the floor, kick them behind the toilet. Do not, I repeat, do not, pick them up and use them to wipe your tear streaked face or nose.)

listen guys... they couldn't pay me enough to clean the damn bathrooms. and to think that people do this for $7.40 / hr.... my god! When I worked at a very cool and large natural food store chain, we hired in a bathroom cleaning company. they came once a week and did a complete spraydown. makes me sick to think that Kroger corporate is too damn cheap and has found some major suckers out there to do this crap

It is a job that has to be done every day not once a week. If someone sh*** everywhere it has to be cleaned up. Really people. Gloves and a mop cleaning soloution etc. As far as sprayign down the restroom. It's not that much trouble.

I wish someone would clean our bathrooms. The odor in the women's restroom for customers could knock you out. It generally smells like it hasn't been washed in weeks. I always make sure to use the employee bathroom in the back, even though the stinky one is closer. For some reason the back one is ok.

True. It doesn't seem like a day goes by when one toilet or more gets backed up and floods the restroom. Some people really do not care about the disgusting mess they leave behind. I remember a few months back, all three stalls in the ladies' bathroom were clogged up and out of commission. Just sickening.
And $7.40 an hour? Try doing it for $7.25 an hour with no raises ever because you're classified as a Courtesy Clerk and Courtesy Clerk's don't get raises. That's how it is for the people that do sanitation where I'm at.

I am going in, In the morning about 1 or 2 am and just going to hose down the restroom. It is not as hard as some people think. They installed a special hose housing with water hookup and it's set up to use the tripple play soloution or whatever soloution. Lasttime I did this I used the whole bottol. The restroom will smell a whole lot better.
it that the thing behind that metal door on the wall??
Yes but please do not steal my hose. I had to find it because someone took the hose. Other departments run over their hoses with pallet jacks. It took 2 months to even get a new hose.
