A lesson for all managers.

Hi, i work at a Dillons store, and today a guy was fired for really no good reason. He had an emergency call from his wife stating that she was being arrested and he needed to come get the kid. He tells the appropriate people, go's and gets his kid and takes him to day care. He came back in and was fired on the spot for leaving work early, even though ALL 3 store managers knew what was going on. We are a non union store, so there is no grievance. This guy had his entire life ruined in a single instant. He put in 25 years with this single store and never had a single write up.

Anyways, later on that night when i came in, i heard that the guy had tracked down where all 3 store managers live and threw ****tail bombs through their windows. Thankfully no-one was inside and the guy is in jail (with his wife) but all 3 of those properties were declared a total loss (its a SMALL town, word gets around quick.).

So, long story short, Management, watch who you fire and how you fire them very close. Jobs are hard to come by today and "some" people will get VERY VERY angry if its is lost for no reason.

Thats some ballsy **** there and they're lucky to have their lives. He could of ambushed them easily. This is exactly why your store needs to unionize.

Is it me or does this corporation intentionally pick the worst of the worst to be in management? Are there no decent people available for management jobs anymore? This corporation has really hit rock bottom. I hope it's not this way at other corporations. If so. GOD help us all!!!!

A growing trend with Wal-Mart (at least in my Market) is to hire/promote women. This is in response to the 12 yr old class action sexism law suit levied against the company.

Now: I have no problems with female management......But we seem to be aquiring the most HATEFUL, emotionally/mentally challenged, man-hating dung heap ones in the W O R L D. No exaggeration, this has been going on for at least three years. I've watched two of my coolest guy fellow Assistants get either fired or demoted over the most assinine crap you can imagine......And replaced by these creatures I just described.

In all companies, this trend of leaning towards abusive managers of both sexes IS becoming the norm. No one's imagination running wild there. The belief is that it's better to lead by fear and intimidation, which is something many of us on here have covered before. And tho it works in the short run. . . . . . . .

I think we're gonna be hearing about more work place related violence in the future. I don't wish it on any one, but as Ye reap, so shall Ye SOW~~

That's because us normal women don't want to deal with middle management and it's headaches anymore. I did it for 4 years, and I tell you what, you have to prove yourself 10 times over to convince people you're capable of doing sh!t right. I thought about becoming a co-manager and scrapped the idea. It's not enough money for the stress and headaches. I enjoy what I do now and get paid good money to do it, and management leaves us alone because for some reason, they're all scared of the pharmacy.

I worked at the store (this happened before I transfered there) but an employee was written up for something trivial and was sent home. However before leaving he tossed a bottle of alchol window through the managers office window. (the kind of window in the managers office that overlooks the entire store) I'm certain that was his last day there also.
