consecutive 40 hour week scheduled and still part time??????

I have had 20 consecutive weeks in a row of working 40 hours a week.  Now they want to cut me back to 30 hours a week.  Does anyone know how many weeks you have to work consecutively of 40 hours to be mandated full time?

It might differ by contract, so you may be better off telling us your state or checking your own contract.

In most states it's 36 or 40 hours for 12 consecutive weeks. Some go by Kroger "quarters," however. So, my guess is either it's not in your contact, it goes by quarters, or you're getting screwed.

This is definitely something you should ask your union steward about. If he doesn't know, ask your representative.

How is the best way to obtain a copy of the contract?

Go up to one of your two union stewards and ask for it.

Typically in some contracts its 12 consecutive weeks in a row. If they bumped you down by 32 hours in one week during those 12 weeks it resets. I would definitely talk to your union representative about this. I would also like to point out it could be based on an average as well like my contract. Are you local 1000 by any chance?

It doesn't clarify in contracts that just because a "new year" begins means that it bumps the 40 hour lock in rate. This would lead to arbitration especially since there are 13 periods ending sometime at the end of January. Most contracts just say 12 consecutive weeks in a row.
