Just wondering if that's allowed? I'm pretty sick but I think the manager is going to give me a hard time. I don't call off a lot, but I did call off once a little under 2 months ago. I was just wondering if they could say no, you have to come in?
I don't think it would be wise for your boss to make you come in if you really are sick, because you are contagious and touch various goods or interact with customers. The worst I think could happen is he demands a doctor's note as proof of sickness. Be sure to give two hours heads up though, it's only polite.
they can do this crap like "aw man we really need you today are you sure you can't make it come on this isn't gonna look good on your work performance and blah blah blah" but no they can't make you come to work. they can't come to your house, put shoes on your feet, drag you out the door and physically make you come to kroger
Have one manager. I have called in a few times and I get the "You are killing me." "You cannot be serious" "You can't do that."
Make a point that it would be irresponsible or unethical for you to come in to work if you are sick. Either way, they cannot say "No dummy, come in anyway, I don't care."
