2 assistant managers love to make a deal about store sweeps being 28 and 29 minutes. We at our store now have to log the sweeps and bathroom checks on the clock. So I had a few that was maybe 2 minutes under. It was just an honest mistake. They are sussposed to be 30 minutes. One was like 28 and one was 29. It was because the store timeclock is a little behind my clock onn my phone. I mean missed by 2 minutes what is the big deal? They said the corp office see's it and will not count it. Shuld I believe that?
How are they actually able to track that you've done a 30 minute sweep? Couldn't you just pencil in the dang 2 minutes?
It is logged on the time clock F4 > sweep > then you will see all the area's of the store. We just do Store and Bathroom's. But Kroger want's to be so perfect why do they call them bathrooms? The correct work is restroom. A bathroom has a bathtub. And I am adding 10 minutes so there will be no fuss.

They are NOT lying to you. This is corporate, not just people in your store. It's a royal pain but it's what they want. When I send someone to do a store sweep I always add two extra minutes to the timer.
A store sweep is when you get a long broom with a long attachment to run it through all areas and aisles of the store. After sweeping the store, you enter it into the system (F4>Sweep>Store>Badge Number>Thumb Print Authentication).

You are correct. But I do not use my thumb or any finger. I was given a password. I had the hardest time with it reading my finger and was always getting clock errors.
a store sweep is just what you'd imagine. someone pushes around a large janitorial broom throughout every aisle sweeping the store of trash and hazards. corporate wants this done during even hours between 8am and 10pm for at least 30 minutes with a minimum of six per day. bathroom checks are on odd hours.
no you don't get extra hours in elms. this is supposed to be done someone already scheduled who might be needed on the lot, bagging, carry out service, spills, trash, go-backs, price checks and random projects. it used to be you could just do a safety check of the aisles but I guess that's not acceptable now.
we have the hardest time getting our people to remember to clock out on the sweep or actually take full 30 minutes according to the time clock.
as for trouble reading your finger, they should've recorded index fingers on both hands. if one doesn't work, can't you use the other?
