so i got a potential plan

As most of the regs on there know, I am currently on suspension.  And most of you know the story. So I got to thinking - what if I went to my arbitration meeting and to them that I have anger issues and I need help. Help from my employer. Sort of like how drug addicts and alcoholics come out and say they have a problem.  Doesn't the company have an obligation to, first, understand and accept your issue and then, second, seek the appropriate treatment?  In other words, if I was to do this before I get terminated don't they have to help me?  Your thoughts on this would be appreciated!

  From,

     One angry employee biggrin

Might help your situation.  The shop steward should have suggested it.  It might be better to get the Union Rep a step up(regional) to help you with this.  Try to find the clause in your union handbook.

When EEOC is mentioned, it usually means racial descrimination card was played.

We had one employee that got her job back after 8 months by same method.  Tardiness caused by drinking.

You could try; if you say something on the lines of " I realize what I did was wrong and for that I apologize. I have xxx issues (whatever issues you have or want to say) an I am asking for help to solve my problems. My friend won his arbitration meeting using something similar to that. Good luck, hope it all works out

Hmm,  It's all in the details.

She was tardy a lot.  Her excuse was because she was an alcoholic.  She got help and got her job back.

Now's a little late and and way too obvious...plus you have broadcasted ur plan for all to see on this public site. I saw a coworker of mine with over 30 years who snapped try this route after the fact... guess what ...good  ol'Christian Kroger severed him(after months of meetings and arbitration) and patted the  vengeful store manager on the back. What's happened has happened...no way to undo it now .... basically the company's stance will be to err on the side of caution due to all the workplace violence in our world today. U premeditated a hostile environment that could've turned into a physical situation. What's to say you won't snap again.... even after a anger mgmt. course? Move on brother.... u weren't happy there and things will only get more frustrating as Barney continues to "dumb down" everything with key retailing and part-time work force conversion. While ur spinning ur wheels on a dead end street u could already be working in a better, happier environment. U F'ed up...who hasn't? U've learned something the hard way now don't let it happen again and u've then made the best out of a bad situation....

Or you could just say you have problems with stress. Sounds much better than "I have ANGER issues". Stress has been a growing problem, due to this recession. Just tell them that you were feeling overwhelmed for some time and that you needed help but didn't know where to turn... Try this instead and good luck.

Does Kroger have anything like an Employees' Assistance Program? Cathy has a good point; you could fall on your sword and ask for some stress management help. Most major companies have something like this in place, and they are supposed to allow you at least an attempt at it.
