One of our scales has a blinking red light on the third light, which is normally a solid green. Ive tried a cold restart, but the blinking persists. Occasionally the scale goes offline, but simply rezeroing the scale brings it back(which is normal for the others scales to do occasionally). Everyone, including the Co Managers, ignore it as it doesnt cause any noticeable problems. Im just wondering if anyone knows the cause or where I could learn more about the UScan itself.
The blinking is a solid 1 second on 1 second off red light. The scale's lights are located on the top left corner next to (from top to bottom) Volume, Zero, and <undetermined> with the last one being the blinking one.
That last light blinking red is indicating a problem with the EAS system at that scale. There should be a large square box about the size of a shoebox inside the robot. It may have lost power or connection with its components inside the scale. Make sure the power switch is glowing green and the led's by the data cable are glowing/blinking. Beyond that, I would say you have to put in a service call.
don't those have a battery back up? those do go bad after a couple years and need to be replaced. not sure if that's the cause or not but just mentioning it. no one is aware of these things b/c for most people things just work and when they don't they got no clue.

The battery backup will not affect the scale in any way unless it stops functioning altogether. If there is a battery problem in the ups, it will start beeping incessantly.
the problem can vary. sometimes i've solved it with a simple cleaning before. our robots don't get the monthly deep clean they're supposed to have under best practices. as long as it scans barcodes, weights match the bagging scale and it isn't honking at customers, i'm not worried about it when we're busy.
hold the top button down. it will make a noise that is a bunch of beeps in a row really fast. keep holding the button. then the scale will either turn off or make low beeping noise that is really annoying. then press the button again to reset the scale.
if all else fails, you really should be calling fujitsu for sco issues as it is their job to fix them, not yours to ask online
Thank you. As I tried to mention, I dont intend to fix it, as the scanner/scale is not actually causing a problem. However, I was hoping to gather more information on the scanner/scale, UScan, and/or the other UScan components, as I had found little to none in my own searches. In fact the out dated U-Fix-It gave me more than Ive been able to find online. It seems Fujitsu has a lock down on the information.
