I'm about to start working at Kroger and was wondering if they allow facial hair? Since I can't have it during the school year, I'm growing it out now in the summer while I can.
They not only don't allow facial hair, but every part of your body has to be waxed. Just kidding. As long as it's kept neat looking, facial hair is fine.
You may hear something if you work meat, seafood, deli, or bakery where you're constantly preparing fresh or raw food, but if you work front end or grocery it shouldn't be a big deal. I've seen night crew wear huge beards. I work front end and I had a beard going but I decided to shave out of my own preference, it wasn't because the managers wanted me to.
Nightcrew all has bears and crazy hair. We don't even wear our uniform until the store opens, but we're out of there before than anyways. If you work with food you might as well shave it all off, because those nets are goofy and uncomfortable to wear.
