okay i work in the fort worth dallas area has file clerk or scan clerk. My csm is now telling me that i need to check one day a week. My question is how do you make your scan count with  all the signs for the store and the seasonal area. plus lamting the signs and zip trying the seasonal stuff. You also have two days that you hang tags on. also you are call to check or told to stay up front for 2 hours or more. My big boss tells me that we are the first one call up because we are front end people. Any help would be great.

there are 2 file clerks in my store. also why would it take 2 days to do tags?? here we have both file clerks and 2 cashiers who work 12a-830a and hang all the tags and most of the new signs.

anyways, yeah you're first to be called because technically you're part of the front-end department. you should know how to run a register if you're a file clerk.

if they keep calling you up to ring, then tell that to your boss if they get mad that you dont get your stuff done.

ask about having a cashier help you do tags to cut down on time and you'll have more of the week to get other things done. it's the same department so they should be able to figure out at least 4 hours to give to someone else to help with the tags

I'm a lead file clerk at a Mid-Atlantic Store. It's a smaller store with my weekly scan goal at 3000. I work Saturday night and on Wed come in at 4am. 7am the other days. ELMS gives File Maintenance for my store around 58-62 hours a week. It used to be less but recently took back all tags so it went up about 8 hours. Saturday night I hang some tags with a helper or two then I do pull off sales and start signs. Wed is about the same. Monday I'll shoot promo, sort Wed tags, and do some scan audits if I have time. Thursday is purely scan audits. I usually finish them for the week and enter reset completions in if I already haven't. Only thing I know to tell you is check your ELMS. If you don't know how any department head or back up should know how to. For the Mid Atlantic it's under apps. Click your division, forecast hours, front end, and a list of front end task appears. File Maintenance is one of those tasks. You can even click on it and it gives a break down of File Maintenance tasks and can even give the hour allocation for a given day. I can give you my day by day for when I had to deal with batches if needed.
