While I am the last person to praise key retailing, most of the other departments in the store have been on it for a while. People have managed for the most part. It may not be ideal, but departments with thousands of items, multiple large storage areas, and large floor spaces have survived intact.

It's basically going to be a standardized set of procedures, policies, item placements and so on. It may seem unnecessary, foolish, and micromanaging, but it has its advantages from an overall labor/workplace management standpoint.

The real purpose of "Key Refailing" is to get rid of full time people, especially the ones who are at top pay.   First, you dumb down a job so much that any idiot off the street can do it.  Second, you create so much paperwork that no real work can get done.  The result is people are getting fired for not dotting every single I or crossing every single T or they're quitting in frustration.  Eventually you end up with a revolving door of employees who work for a very limited period of time.  That makes the company happy because no one reaches full time and they don't have to pay insurance.  Kroger was founded in 1883.  How on earth did they manage to stay in business for over a century before "Key Refailing" came along?

mr. phil the man over fuel centers in my area came by Thursday I was asking him a little about it because I know nothing about key retailing except what I hear from the employees at the store and none of it any good. he said we are going to  have a boat or a cart in stock room in the back it should have the top 20 items the fuel center sells, our inventory will be put in the system the guns we use to order things for the fuel center is suppose to work at the fuel centers now.. They have started training people this week to come and train the lead, the back up lead a manager drug gm manager and grocery manager.. its like the last person posted it will be a list of things we have to do and get done in time. fuel centers get 160 hrs per week I hope they don't want to start taking any away.. Im not sure how much paper work is going to be involved but it cant be as bad as the store has to do since we are a smaller dept.. I hope this will be something we can all have a decent time trying to learn and learn well because if your like me you cant afford to lose your job over some extra paper work and even extra work to do... He told me it will work just fine once everybody gets trained.. so lets keep our fingers crossed...
