Been that way for 2 months now. too many people were using the double coupon policy to get free items due to dumb cashiers. Walmart stopped double couponing a while ago so it was only natural for kroger to stop doing it.

The store I'm at stopped doubling and tripling coupons around a year ago... perhaps more. I know that at the time, it seriously bugged some customers and people still will ask if we double/triple coupons. I've had people tell me that they shop more at the Albertsons across the street because Albertsons still doubles/triples coupons, as does another competitor (Tom Thumb, but there aren't any near us).
Customers still manage to make out pretty good though, especially when they combine lots of coupons with mega event items or other promotions that might be going on on a given week.
I thinks that is a great idea. The e coupons don't double. And Walmart doesn't double their coupons. Also if Kroger is going to lower prices and still do the mega event you still come out good when you do regular coupons that don't double.

Tom thumb is Kroger owned any ways so if people go their their are still giving Kroger money.

There's a Tom Thumb supermarket chain owned by Safeway, Inc. That's the company I was referring to.
Oh yea we still have people complaining on our OSATs about how we don't double and triple coupons anymore.
You can blame extreme couponers for that...
It's finally come down to a dull roar. I hardly ever see anymore complaints about coupons. I did see one the other day about where someone complained about where the deodorant is placed in the store. Twice.
