Nutrition Slavery! The Story...

Im a nutrition lead in district 11 of SW division, Im a star safety member and in the culture council as well. I work 40 plus hours a week, I make orders, stock, inventory, condition, sales plans, resets and have a little of dairy, frozen, grocery, drug/gm as well as my own special crap to deal with but only make $8.55 an hour... total BS right? I get compliments all the time on how I completely corrected and cleaned my department, that Im doing an outstanding job. My markdown percentage is always above 85% my shrink is decent, my whole count is almost always within goal, bill breetz himself even shook my hand and told me I was doing great job. Yet I bring home about $1000 a month and Im forced to live with family instead of my own place drive a pos car and I am always broke. On top of all that I worked for Kroger for 3 years in the deli previously and was making $12.60 an hour $1780 a month but left the company for a short 5 months. Well I was forced to resign without my union representative present for reprinting an old doctors note because I was sent home for dehydration from work, they had told me that I would have to bring a note before being allowed to return, although in the state of Texas it is required a minimum of three days of work must be missed before they can require a note. For 5 Months I struggled to find a job, once again Kroger hindered these efforts because wherever I applied they were required to be a member of the worknumber.com to verify my experience with Kroger and most places refuse to pay the $19.99 a month to the website to hire someone. When I finally gave in I made a few calls to company friends and explained what had happened they welcomed me back and told me that all will be fixed. When I got back in the door they refused me my old pay although I had the same enterprise ID, passwords, my pay stubs were still on my expresshr and they began taking $12 out for union dues from my orientation pay check instead of the 45 days they should have, I had never been removed from the system or the union, it was like I never left.

Of course I contacted the union right away and filed a grievance with my union representative and after 9 months of being told my money is coming, we got your back, you will get your back pay, always told with a smile and a handshake, so on so forth. Well when I finally received the letter from the union and they had found no merit to my grievance and that I was not entitled to my hard earned $5 an hour I lost or the $6000 in back pay they owe me, but they still got that $12 a week in union dues they refused to fight for me that Im still paying them. When I called them back they couldnt tell me why either, all they could say is that they couldnt verify my previous jobs before Kroger, that they had already verified when I began working for them 5 years ago. Kroger had a lawsuit that had something to do with recruiters doing false verifications in which all that were involved were terminated but conveniently for them it locked my verifications from being used although the recruiter who originally hired me was not a part of it and still works for the company.

Ive worked really hard for this company and still do on a daily basis, I enjoy my work and most the people I work with and would like to make Kroger a career, but I really need this BS corrected as well as the respect I deserve. bleh

Might want to get a lawyer if its affordable and push even further. Have you kept all documents/paperwork? If so I'd pursue this as far as possible. Kroger has NO right to do that.
