Ok guys like anybody else I have issues with management.  So I am going to bitch.

I run the freezer department.  I am not a manager just a grunt.  However holy **** do I get ****ed over.  My department has soooo much to do now thanks to our new remodel.  Infact it is so much to do that it is about as much as Dairy who gets 2-3 people a day and im by myself.  However I am great at my job.  So I can literally do as much as 2-3 just by myself.

Here flies in the issue........I have days off.  When I take a day off literally nothing gets done.  When I mean nothing gets done I am serious!  Even if it is a backstock day they will work half of one backstock cart and call it a day.  No ice gets filled, my department does not get conditioned, no frozen bread gets done, the order is horrible and the rest of my backstock is piled up.  With all this extra stuff my backstock piles really quickly so I need things to get done in order to be successful.  With them doing nothing it seriously puts me behind so badly and then there are holes everywhere!

My management shrugs me off when I tell them about it and complain when I dont make my audit claiming that I should dig through my backstock carts (which I dont have time to do).  It would take me just as long to dig through them to find one item as it would to just pull the whole thing out and just work the whole cart.  It is a huge waste of company time.  When I ask for help since I get screwed they say they cant help cause Dairy is behind who has just as much as me but with more people and someone did stuff on their day off.

They say I can have as much OT as I want to fix it.  Which for awhile I was working 13 hour days and staying to fix it but it has kept happening........for a year.  So I quit staying.  Now they are mad with me and feel I have no reason to be disgruntled.  It took me a year to really get mad about the situation.

On top of that they say I bitch to much about it.  So I quit going and telling them but when I dont tell them they get mad that I did not come tell them.  So then I tried to tell them I am behind but dont go into detail.  They ask questions so I naturally answer them and they once again consider it bitching.  So wtf am I suppose to do?

Lucky for me I went on vacation from what im aware of it has gone terrible for them.  A large part of me does not want to come back.  The pay is good which is why I stay but it is really hard for me to care about my job when they clearly do not care what happens while im gone.  I get it is apart of how things work.  But it really should never be like this.  They got mad because I said I want myself and others to be successful and there is no excuses if everybody just does their job correctly.  They were furious at me for saying that and pulled me in the office.  So they are mad at me that I want to do well and not come in to a total mess.

I am great at this job but just surrounded by a terrible supporting cast.  While I help lift them up I am always playing from behind.  It has gotten old.

Sounds to me like they are too used to ou doing ALL the work of 2-3 People and THEN making up for it when you get back from vacation or days off. Then it's like " WTF?!? WE have to make sure WE do OUR part by making sure the work gets done while you are on your time off?!? HELL NO!!" I'd ask them why they are angry at you when you do your part (and your co workers part) while in your dept. and then ask how is it your fault that nothing gets done when you are gone? Sounds like that they want ONLY YOU to do the work, and when it piles up, they get mad at YOU which is not fair in the least

Are you an actual frozen lead or are you just a clerk?  If you're not being paid for the work of a lead or department head then don't do the work of a lead or department head.  Just tell them that you're not paid to do that job.

That's exactly what it sounds like.  They get an overachiever aka just someone who cares about the job and use them up, exploit them, schedules them crazy and when a momentary breaking point comes they get angry.

I had a co-manager say you can't run the company on a 9-5 schedule.  My reaction is you're not running this company.  Plus you're salaried, I'm hourly and not even the dept head or backup.  Why is it on me to pick up his slack?  So you can get bigger bonuses?  My dept head said it was my responsibility to make sure everyone else did their jobs.  Screw that.
