I have been a cashier/ drug dept helper for the past year now. So lately they started writing people up because of our holes during primetime. I have been off for two days but I hear there's a write up waiting for me. Hypothetically speaking could I get fired for tearing that write up in two in front of my boss and realistically speaking what if I just refuse to sign it? I feel as though its not my fault. I am part time. I work there two or three days out of the week and usually its for like 6 hours. I work continuosly sometimes I dont get a break. they say theu can write us up for not completing our job is that true?
They can write you up for it, yes. However the best advice is already to never sign anything regardless, especially if you disagree with it. I wouldn't tear it up, just refuse to sign.
Make sure you check all holes at the start of your shift and fill them. This is very important since this is why you are getting written up. Its part of being in a dept and also key retailing. If you was there that day, it's your responsibility and the other people In your dept to get this done first and foremost.
Now, in reply to the rest of this topic from your other thread, no they cannot fire you for those 2 write-ups. The general procedure is 3 write-ups for the same thing within either 3 or 6 months (cant remember which) then 1 day suspension, then 2-3 day suspension, then suspension pending termination.
Well I just do what our drug dept manager tells me to do. The reason I feel like its not my fault is because the aisles she assigns to me are done. I feel as though its not my fault that the other girl didn't finish her aisles and we all get written up for it. She is super lazy and sooo slow. And shes been there for 4 years and she is also buddy buddy the drug dept manager. also I'm not ever there early in the morning they open together almost every day. I usually work 12-6 or 1-7 weekends (mainly saturday) are the only days I work 9-4. The whole deal sounds stupid to me
the dept manager should know the holes should be filled first. If not they deserve to get written up. In my store dry grocery and drug gm are usually the problem departments putting us over our out of stock goal. That's the reason I'm guessing they are targeting you
