This has been a constant problem since I've worked at Kroger -pallets* falling over during shipping. It's such an easy fix. They even have E-tracks built right into the sides of the trailer to hook straps to. So, why the hell don't the drivers use them?
Pisses me off when the first thing I do is open a trailer to find that I'm already behind schedule before I even started. Not to mention all the damages it causes. You'd think a multimillion dollar company would have figured this out a decade or two ago.
Most are strapped in at the warehouse. Odd for a driver not to use straps.
I think the drivers pick up the trailers from the warehouse and never see the inside of the trailer until they are watching them get unloaded. If you are the second stop on the delivery, then the driver should be strapping the pallets in.
We keep a few extras on the loading dock just for this issue.
Oh man i feel ya on this one. It's my job to unload trucks when they arrive and we are the last stop. every......single....time!!!! Wait untill you have 3 pallets of water loose in the truck, thats when it gets really fun!
be glad you get to keep a trailer at your store. Ours are delivered and unloaded and taken away. Meanwhile, what salvage cannot fit sits on our dock. 5S my ass.

What's wrong with this picture??? I seriously don't know how some people even move around in their back rooms with all this going on....

It is the warehouse's job to strap them in. When the driver get's to the store he or she goes to the restroom or goes and buy's a snack or whatever. People at the store should check things are secure. Not the driver.
