E-scheduling woes
Permalink

I just got next week's schedule that was done under the e-scheduling and I was surprised and upset. It was all screwy! It has me working till midnights on a couple days when the bagger's night shift ends at 11 and gave me only 4 days to work when my availability is 5. I wasn't the only one affected by this. It seems some of the employees I talked to were also having problems. I went to talk to management about it and they said that some bugs still had to be worked out and that I had no choice but to work the shifts I was given. That's your typical Kroger hor$e$hit, I guess.

It doesn't sound like bugs to me. Sounds proper for a change.

Once your scheduling clerk realizes they have to do it all manually the scheduling will get better.

The e-schedule for my store did some weird stuff. Every single employee I talked to today after the new schedules were hung up said they had problems with their schedule that needed to be changed. For me, it scheduled me to cover the file maintenance head on one day by myself since she's on vacation next week... despite that I'm still in training for file maintenance and don't know how to do a lot of that stuff yet. Luckily they fixed that for me.

I'm also kinda sad that e-schedule took away my self-scan shifts, but oh well.

I've heard the same things from many of the employees regarding the e-schedule, and how many of the employee schedules are all screwed up now. And I hear the same stuff from store managers about having to work all the kinks out...This is a big change, especially for whoever has to write the schedule, too. In fact, my dept. manager was at a meeting about it, and was telling me that there are still a lot of people who don't have a clue (They are just used to doing things the old way) and are having trouble figuring it all out...Maybe in time, it will all get better. In the meantime, my manager said that schedules and hours may be weird for a couple weeks. We'll see...It's a good idea on paper, but I think the implementation leaves much to be desired.

The things you are being scheduled to do sound like they haven't completely set you up right in the system. You have to have a primary task you work but they can add secondary tasks (like the SCO shifts) that are other tasks you do regularly. Sounds to me like you were only set up with the primary task being file maint and nothing else being filled out.
