Sure is funny for Kroger to emulate Walmart or Meijer .. When their trying to be better then them. They all must get together and discuss work.

In my market, Walmart runs a lot of commercials downing Kroger. They seem a bit worried in this area.

ya, it sucks. I quit Walmart and Safeway due to low wages/hours and came to work for Kroger about 6 years ago. Now i see Kroger doing the exact same thing the competition did years ago. I am one of the lucky few to retain 40 hrs/week but all of the new people comin in, i mean my god they pay them so low! How do they expect to continue business and not pay people a living wage? By living wage i mean starting out should be something like 9.25-10.50(for night crew). I manage 2 departments (Floral and Bakery) and still only make about 11.50, which honestly is pretty low once you consider the actual work and labor involved, especially since the new people comin in arent motivated enough to do much. I'll ride their asses from time to time about the important stuff, and basics but other than that i cant bring myself down to the Kroger level completely and go completely anal on them. I am getting pretty tired of busting my ass, and other peoples asses so i can buy another corporate exec a 2 million dollar car or a 780 thousand dollar yacht, or whatever the hell else they want to buy with their ungodly huge bonuses. I dont know what it is with these people, but ive done everything i was supposed to do, spent 7 years in college, came out with an MBA and ever since then i have been stuck in goddamn retail, doing menial **** for slave wages and no offers to advance "up the ladder" like a person should with an MBA!
