Co-workers who are late always..

What should I do with my co-worker who are always late for work?

I am just a full-time Tech in pharmacy department.

Because of my position,I most likely open in the morning with one of our pharmacist. Next shift is scheduled 10:00.

The girls who are coming for 2nd shift(They are sisters, day varies),They are always 20 to 25 minutes late.

The older sister was late more than 40 minutes the other day(The reason was she studied till late and woke up late BECAUSE OF IT??)

Today, her younger sister showed up 38 minutes late as well. I wasn't happy,of course..

Especially lately in our department,it is not predictable in the morning due to lots of flu shot customers.

When I pointed out to the girl this morning,How late she was, The response was 'I am not her boss, and she doesn't have time to discuss about this, because she is working...How rude and disrespectful that is.. She didn't say "I am sorry,I was late" something like that at all. My manager noticed that quite a while ago, but didn't seem like said any strict way.

I reported again today to my manager though.

Here is my question. If my manager won't fix it, should I report to my store manager directly?

Is there any policy that you can be written up for this situation?

I would go to your store manager. You've tried talking to them; to your dept. Manager, to no avail. Last time I knew, you are supposed to be in time for work. If Kroger had no policy on that, then employees would come in whenever THEY felt like it. Technicaly you can be written up for it; whether your store manger choses to do it or not, it's up to them.

I thought relatives couldn't work in the same department too. Whats up with that?

Oh they definitely can work together. One just cannot be in a position of authority over another.

In case of potential favoritism grievances. My sister was offered a dept head management position in my dept, but turned it down because of potential favortism grievances. She won't even work in the same dept as me just to be safe.

Why have you not had your lead tech talk to them? Or the pharmacy manager? If I had someone that was chronically late my pharmacy manager and I would have a talk with them. However, my manager and I are a good team, and we bounce ideas off of each other. If your lead tech doesn't care, and neither does your RX manager then you need to go to store management instead and have the issue addressed. Mornings are already hectic enough in a pharmacy, especially now with flu shots in full swing, that the person you're relying on to be in at their appointed time. I'm sure the managers could pull up their time punches in Kronos and verify their tardiness.

Good luck. It's stressful enough in a pharmacy without dealing with crap like that.
