I do favors and STILL get treated like crap
Permalink

I do favors time and time again for management and work and STILL manage to get treated like crap. I've given up my days off te and time again to help out, worked beyond my shift, given up planned vacations, etc to help them out of binds. Now when I ask for help in my dept in return to cover a day off I requested they treat me like crap, not picking and threatening to write me up. (I called their bluff once and the S.O.B.'s did it).

Now this time they begged for my help because they are in a MAJOR bind. Corporate is coming down and they need my help BAD to fix something before major trouble hapens.

Wow, that REALLY sucks for them.... "Soooo "sorry" (NOT) I WONT be there.

Woah woah.

I hope you've learned your lesson. Do the amount of work equivalent to what they pay you. If you start doing "favors" for them, they'll take advantage of that to the fullest extent. That doesn't mean they'll have to do YOU a favor.

Never EVER expect for them to give you the same respect as you'd give them.

Wolves...Nothing but wolves!!! And don't you just love it when THEY'RE in a bind, they will cry to the ends of the earth that they don't have any help, and that they need you really bad, and that without you, the sky is gonna fall, and disaster will strike. And boy, does it happen!!! In sports, you'd better have a good offense, and not just a good defense, and these types of maneuvers are like last-minute defenses, with no offensive strategy. That is, they're done out of desperation, with no planning ahead of time. AND...the store doesn't win treating you like that, but you also don't win for helping them out, and having nothing to show for it. At least athletes (if they put in the effort) will get a trophy every once in a while. For your hard work and EXTRA dedication, you get...that's right...NADA! So, I would say DO YOUR JOB to the best of YOUR ability, and don't worry if your teammates can't get it done. Time and time again, it's been proven that if only one star player leads the team without the others contributing, that will lead to frustration and burnout...and then, nobody wins!
