I don't know about any other stores, but my store insists on putting out fresh donuts every day. And every day we throw them away. Why? Because they're loaded with FLIES!! Yes, flies. The donut case is on the counter as soon as you walk in the door. Whenever I'm working, I constantly discourage anyone from buying them. I tell them to go down to the donut shop. I complained to my manager several times. I'm told Turkey Hill wants them out anyway. Isn't that disgusting??
Sounds like the donut case is dirty. The only for sure way to be rid of them is to bleach the whole thing. And I mean the whole thing, top to bottom, every nook and cranny you can think of.

Do you guys clean your donut case? We clean it every night. We had some gnat problems but there's a fan inside it now that keeps them away too.
We have a problem with Flies. It is the Compactor. When it is picked up taken to be emptied you should see all the maggots under it. It is awful. One year the manager turned off the fly fan at the door because a lady complained that it blew her hair she just had her hair done L.O.L anyway the manager turned off the fan. Next thing you know state inspector comes in and we get in trouble. So fly fans went back on. We also have 2 birds in the store. Does anyone know how to get rid of a bird? Last time a BB gun was used. Is there a better way?

lol, you only see two birds! There has to be more...
Yeah, the BB gun is the last resort for the exterminator. Our "2" birds escalated to 5 pest control guys hunting the birds while the store was closed.
You have to seal off all the ways they get into the building. We had a crack in the back of the building they were entering in.
