I work full time at my local kroger.  Have been for 6 months now.  I'm thinking about moving out of the area to go to school in January.  If I were to come back a couple months later,  Well they be able to give me back my full time position? Am I aloud to leave the area even though I just resently made full time?

You also misspelled recently.  I'll let "Well" (will) slide since it's probably a typo.

check the contract but under mine it would basically be the same as leaving the company and returning. you'd get a new hire date and lose full time.  a couple months is longer than a personal leave of absence and probably not something they'd let you use to keep from losing status especially since they don't want full time people if they can avoid it.

If you're not on eschedule, submit a paper availability change form. If you are, you do it on the eschedule portal.

Good luck changing availability as part-time, too. I've been trying to get Tuesdays off for 2 years, with repeated requests in Esched and on paper and they've all been ignored. by four different department managers. Kroger doesn't allow employees to have a life outside of Kroger unless they're in school. Everything has to revolve around the needs of the company.

Why not just take an educational leave?
