E Sked is a disaster

What a cluster! It has a 62 year old woman scheduled to unstack the truck, and floral employees not coming in until 10:30 on some days when the order arrives at 7 AM. How can they claim that this is easier then what has worked for so many years?

The only reason for E Sked is to screw the employees. The employees, and even some on this forum, should NOT just accept it. We should all be protesting this with the union. It makes me sick to see some people on here type "It's all right," "It got better," etc. Why should we just accept something that was meant to screw us over? It ignores our contract and were told to just accept it. I tell you, NO. Don't let the company screw you over and don't take crap from nobody.

it ignores the contract and when we complain the union sock puppet squawks, "needs of the business."  or tells us management will write us up for insubordination and we'll have to grieve it if we just don't comply with these violations.

I feel all of your pain to those who are b itching over the E Schedule.  Remember that Kroger is a business and their number one goal is to make a profit for their stock holders. That is basic business practice.  My point is that this ESched is made based off of algorithms of business going thru your store.  It is meant to have people there to work when they are needed the most.  But of course the ESched doesn't know that a floral truck is scheduled to come at 7 am on Tuesday.  This is where the store's management team comes in to tweak things a little bit. So if a schedule prints out and you see issues with it, go speak up!  Let management know and understand any potential problems so they can ultimately make a decision on what to do.

Listen to this guy! Gotta help his stock increase in value, right? I'd bet he's got quite a nifty share. To hell with the low-level employees when this guy needs Kroger to reap in more profits in the expense of our time, effort, and pay.

The problem at my store right now is that it is just rolling out and the managers don't know how to use it either. What I tell them is that if your business picks up at 9 AM, you need to get the product stocked before 9 AM as to not be in the way of the customer.

actually....

I no longer work for Kroger.  And the union didn't do squat for me.  I tried to write my post as articulate as I could. And I think I succeeded.  You know exactly what I mean - every word, phrase and sentence to my post. Kroger is a damn business there to make a profit.  This isn't the US government or your "living paycheck to paycheck" family.  ESched has a defined purpose.  To have employees there when the customers are there.  I did say that before didn't I?  Also, YOU, that's right you, can go explain and then have changed the predetermined "schedule model" for the betterment of the store.  It's not rocket science dudes!  It's business management.  But maybe that's why you people who b*tch over it are where you are at and not actually managing....

Everyone, give it a 110% while at work. It's all for the benefit if this schmuck's shares and stock.

sometimes ya gotta let managers screw things up so they see it for themselves.  If the load sits there for two hours and goes bad or customers aren't getting helped, cuase no ones there, its on them.  16 hour day?  Gimme dat OT.

Both anons here need to show a little more respect on here when posting poorly though out and trolling replies to the person who cared enough about his position with the company to go and start this fairly well trafficked forum about said company, after having served considerable time working there.

Everything thedude says in this post is 100% spot-on and I as a schedule writer under this new program will back that up. You would be hard pressed to find any legitimate fault with what he is saying, which is made obvious at least to me, because instead of refuting a single one of his points, you proceed to attack him personally.

And so what if his motivation were to up his stock values and increase his pension? The entire point of those programs is to give employees a personal, close-to-home benefit tying their financial success to the success of their employer. One predictable effect of this is that employees receiving these benefits (because they have worked their way into position to receive them by showing hard work and dedication) tend to push employees who have not gotten so far to strive for greater things.

 Say what???

To our lovely Anon posters, the beauty of this forum is that it allows all to post their thoughts freely regardless of how poignant or moronic it might be.  But remember - "stupid is as stupid does".

Now as the forum moderator, I could easily delete any post that is just plain stupid.  But, for now, yours shall remain intact.  Your actions determine your character.

btw- thanks techelite for your support.  I don't think many Anon posters realize that I am the moderator to this site however.  They somehow stumble upon our lovey little forum and hang around for awhile.  Which, of course, is perfectly fine.  It's like hobos who ride the rail cars.  They hop off and visit for awhile adding character to the village.

biggrin
