I recently was offered a job to work at a local Kroger as a courtesy clerk. I was told I would be contacted once they ran my background so they could go ahead and start me with training and get me on the schedule.
It's been two weeks and I haven't heard anything. Should it be taking this long??? I even called to check on any updates after the first week and they said they'd let me know. My background is as clean as you can get. Idk what's taking them so long. Any thoughts?
At one point during the gov shutdown the expected delay was up to 3 weeks on background checks, but now that seems too long since everything is running again. Call again.
KEEP CALLING. IF you call(and the know you are still relevant to them) they will hire them. They WILL waste money on a background check/drug test, but ONLY if you prove you do no care about the job(as in, never calling to check on it)
If you call like once every three days you will be fine.
In our district we now have a new place doing BG checks and turnaround time on them is around 48 hours. I'd give them a call and let them know you're still interested.
