Ordering Holes?

I'm a stocker on the night crew working midnights, and the new store manager wants us to use the scan guns.  The manager had a big shot  to come in this past week and give us a 2 hour class on CAO training.  I'm okay with scanning the BOH on backstock, but I don't know about ordering the Holes, is that really the responsibility of the stocker?  I remember in the class the teacher said, there was no need to go into the item maintenance, but if we did get with the grocery manager.

The Store Manager said, that each stocker is responsible for their isles and that we have to do it, our we get a write up. Plus, the store manager is walking the isles with each one of us each morning before we leave to make sure that we are doing it.   And on my walk this morning the manager got pissed at me because I didn't know how to use the item maintenanace to order the holes, and said that I better know it by tomorrow morning and stormed off, but lucky for me I'm off tonight and so I will not be there in the morning.

Change the BOH to 0, make sure the ALLOC = how many will fit.

Thanks, for the answer and its nothing to it, I made it  all harder than what it was, and its not rocket science!  My Manager shouldn't be getting after me about it anymore and I was tired that morning and I was sleepy and my mind was in a fog and it made me look like a dumba$$.

Easy Peasy.

Log on CAO.

1,1

Scan item.

Function 2.  enter, enter.  Order 1 case.  Function 5.  Done.

Caution on some items especially the paper towel aisle.  The Home sense 6 pack rolls are 4 to a case while 8 pack rollss are singles.

Now, if you want to be an extra smartass to the manager.  Ask if you should order even tho you believe there is a shipper of 200 somewhere in the store.  Function 0, Function 9.  It will show you who adjusted the BOH and how many for the last 30 days..  An employee inside the store will be Initials and 5 digit number(zz12345).  A shipper will be changed by someone at the warehouse and only have numbers(12345).  Of course, he will tell you to go locate it.

I order for the entire grocery department once a week.  I did the order for the entire week for 3 weeks last month.  Just when I think I have everything filled, 20 more holes pop up the next night!!

Just saying it states in the union handbook that only management has to order.

Yup and depends on the contract the store is under.

It is good to know how to order tho.  Experience can lead to a full time manager position.

My regular manager orders grocery each day.  I am the back-up when my manager and his back-up are off.  I get paid my managers' pay when they both take a week off.

Doesn't always work like that.  What if the last 5 are on backstock, in damage or in gobacks?

I would break fingers if I were allowed to when I find people zeroing things that are not zero.  It also wastes my time when I have to go back and fix them because the Order Review flags the  negative BOHs.

Only night crew runs and scans backstock for grocery at our store.   Yet, everyone on daycrew zeros products out because they are too lazy to go look for it or have no clue where to look for it.  We have shippers cluttering our backroom and I know some of the holes are back there.  I decided to order some of the products because who knows when daycrew will get to those shippers.  117 in the store but 0 on the shelf!!!!!!!!

Also, if a product hasn't been automatically ordered within the last 30 days, sometimes you need to order one manually to get it jumpstarted again.

How about people stop 'guessing' on allocation so that our grocery back stock stays at a reasonable level? If you can only fit 10 boxes of product on a shelf, then make allocation 10. Don't make it 11 just because you can squeeze in an 11th box halfway. It's not like you're getting paid extra to lie about the allocation numbers people.

 LOL, ain't that the truth.

I swear my day manager doesn't know how to count when he sets the allocation.

My night manager keeps trying to tell me that someone in corporate is able to change the numbers from far away.
