No extra help the week of Thanksgiving!

Today at work I asked my deli manager if we were going to get any extra help next week.  Well guess what?!  No we aren't and no overtime is to be allowed next week and managers are to "save hours when possible!"  We got 130 employees and they won't schedule enough help.  Hell they're cutting hours!  Anyone else seeing hours cut at their store next week?

We got more hours than the managers know what to do with because a lot of people requested Thursday, Friday, and Saturday off.

There is no 'saving hours when possible'. You receive a certain amount of hours a week and your department head schedules to those hours. Management doesn't make the hours, ELMS does.

Yes

Our hours are cut again by 40 in the deli.

I'm not sure how we are supposed to raise the osat score when we are all so stressed out that the customers can see...

Oh yea, there's no extra hours this week, and yet their going to want more than double the amount of rolls and bread baked for the pre-Thanksgiving rush.

And of course, i'm scheduled 4 hours in which to break everything out and clean up. Like that's enough time.

I also hate the lady who does our scheduling. She has her "favorites" so whenever they have a request she gives it to them but if anyone else ask for a request she ignores it and claim she forgot no matter how many times we remind her.

Seniority. Anything else means you need to contact your union representative. It'll be your fault if you let her push you around. If she uses the "I forgot" excuse, remind her everyday and even leave paper notes. The more evidence you can provide to the rep, the better.

At my store, all but two people in the deli/bakery department have 3 days off (No Overtime).  Today, the deli manager had to redo the schedule and take out 45 more hours because sales were down last week.  That was last week.  This is Thanksgiving week.  Sales are going to be up.  So we need more help, not less.   I swear the people in the corporate office are either idiots or they're deliberately trying to sabotage us.

Same with our store. ELMS Scheduled virtually NO help during Thanksgiving week. Management is debating whether or not to override ELMS and schedule people anyway. We need the help BAD on Thanksgiving.

We, too, have less hours this week than last week. Thanks, Corporate, you greedy bastards.

Huh.. it might explain why I wasn't scheduled AT ALL for Thanksgiving week.

I've already told them that I can go about with my regular shifts.

Though, I'm not sure if they didn't put me down because they don't have enough hours, or if they thought that I was on Thanksgiving break like the other colleges and would be out of town (unfortunately, I'll only have Thursday and Friday off from college).

Anyway, they told me to just come in whenever I want to. Hehe... I'll be taking advantage of that.

Yay, I got approved to come in at 1 Tuesday instead of 5. I'm glad we have a cool co-manager who will actually approve extra hours.

Not hardly. I was scheduled 48 instead of the usual 40.
