I WAS supposed to be off at 10 am (6-10) and last minute they asked me to work a full shift. I need the cash but reall? I told them nicely NUMEROUS times to let me know IN ADVANCE only for it to be ignored. How do I tell management firmly that I need to know IN ADVANCE being as njce doesn't work.
I feel your pain. I'm of the sort that once I've got it in my head that it's going to be a short, easy day, you best not come along and screw it up for me.
On the other hand, if you ask me a day or two in advance, yeah... I'll probably help ya out. Same goes for days off etc.
Are you in the union? If so, I'm pretty sure management cannot force you to work past your scheduled clock-out time, and they cannot retaliate against you for refusing to work past your scheduled clock-out time.
