I saw my manager a day or two ago while shopping on my day off. He mentioned that I will have 28 hours next week and I could've sworn he said that eschedule updates on Thursday but I look today and it is still blank. Just wanna know when it will update so I don't accidentally miss a day or something.

Thursday evening is the deadline for store management to approve the schedules. Note well: The schedule your department head/lead wrote and approved is subject to change until that point. Whew, have we had some nasty drama rage up over that one!
A hard copy of this approved schedule must be posted Friday. This schedule is canon. The stuff that pertains to you on those pages cannot be altered without your approval, no matter who or what might beg.
The online schedule might not update until Saturday afternoon. It should match the official paper schedule, but it might not. (That's messed up, I know.) Even if you're out of town and checking the online schedule to decide when you're coming back, it would be prudent to call and have a trustworthy authority figure confirm that the first shift matches the one on the posted schedule.

The schedule can actually be changed at any time up until noon on saturday with or without the employee's approval.
Really? Is that a company wide thing? If so, I can add a new piece to my "screw you" arsenal. (Maniacal laugh.)
Actually, now that I think about it, this explains some grumblings I've overheard from denizens of other departments. Guess we've just been lucky that such changes haven't been necessary.

Well since it's a contractual issue, "company-wide" doesn't apply here. From what I hear, there are similar clauses in most contracts within the enterprise.
It makes sense for it to be this way; there are alwaysissues with shifts and hours after the schedule comes out. If it was 100% locked in, there wouldn't be any ability to fix issues.
