At my store our schedule is usually posted by 1 p.m. on Friday. Contract says noon, but our office people are lazy idiots. Anyway, while on break the other day the schedule still hadn't been posted by 2:30, an hour before I went home. The secretary told me the mangers were upstairs hacking away at hours. Well at 4 I get a text from a fellow employee stating the schedule was just posted. So why even have a set time for the schedule to be posted when they never post it by that time?
BTW the vast majority of the hours were cut from the front end. Several people up there are gettin hours in the low 20's to upper teens. And a few received no hours at all. And we've been busier than ever.
Our contract also says noon on Friday. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. Compliance is the offspring of fear. Obviously there is little to no risk in missing the deadline. Expendable drones unworthy of respect and all that jazz.
Regarding cut hours:
Yes indeed. Slash hours from front end. Dip into other departments. Rage at substandard state of said departments. Wonder why expendable, unworthy drones respond with thousand yard stare. Isn't the game fun?
My store's eschedule is meant to be updated on Thursdays but never is until Friday afternoon. Our in-store paper schedule is usually posted by Thursday though.

If this is an ongoing thing, then, I suggest contacting the union. If they're really violating the contract just to cut hours, it sounds like you don't have that much to lose by bringing it up. It won't kill people to print the schedule and post it. This seems to be an ongoing issue nationwide, and its getting pretty ridiculous.
our store is supposed to have it on friday at 12 posted up on the wall and on eschedule saturday at 12, but you never see the print out intill around 3pm, it kinda sucks
we've had times where the schedule wasn't posted until late saturday morning and considering you only have until noon to make changes, roll hours, etc. that's just BS
