does your manager come around with a clipboard asking you to sign it? They always make you feel rushed so you don't really get to read what you're signing but they tell you that "you're signing it because you're in xxx dept and xxx got injured"
Always read what you're asked to sign. Most paperwork is just a confirmation stating you read the papers, but, never take that for granted. You never know when they might try and slip some sleazy lines in the writing. Some people won't sign anything at all because of this fear. If for whatever reason you're told you HAVE to sign, have either your steward or representative there to back you up.
Never sign it. Just tell them you'll acknowlege and follow it, but DO NOT sign it. This can be considered personal bargaining and can be used against you in the event that you get hurt.
