And I couldn't be happier. I am a full time engineering student with a minor in mathematics/computer science. I will now have time to actually focus and study. :D I love the people I work with, but oh man, do I hate customers. I cashier.
Congratulations! Now, even if you can't find a job with your degree and are desperate, you could even get a job cashiering at a place that actually pays well. I hope your job hunt goes well.
Good for you bud anywhere is better then walmart err emm kroger. Kroger is nearly rock bottom. Gosh you even got to be a lying backstabbing politician to be a co manager or store manager, at least if you want to remain employed. 90% percent of the managers I've dealt with the past 6 or 7 years always find shady ways to fire people they don't like and do favors for the ones they do like.. Instead of doing there jobs and coaching and training.. when these guy's get called out for it they pass the buck. department heads can train but without management support training will fail or be less effective. The store managers that are the bad at there job's tend to blame everyone else for the failing store results.. Even when the only common denominator is said person when there gone things start running better then when there back **** hits the fan.. problem is these types of store managers and co's are multiplying the good one's that treat people fairly and try there best to give support are getting fewer and fewer. this company is getting more greedy and unethical its kinda of sickening so, you are choosing a great time to get out.. the going is still good in some areas so if your smart never come back to work for this company they will be an exact copy of walmart in about 10 years only difference will be the name on the outside.. I'm sure many will disagree but the truth hurts. There is one manager that I had to deal with in the past that I'm sure has never uttered an honest statement in his career at Kroger. I believe he moved to a Ann arbor store in Michigan think the store number is #605 I wouldn't be surprised in the past 2 years that he has been there he prolly has gone through 3 or 4 night managers and maybe 6 or 7 frozen managers.. 2 or 3 dairy managers no one ever could work with this guy he basically tries to run the entire store himself he works 70 - 80 hours and he does all of the schedules i doubt he would of changed he has always believed he is right on pretty much everything. that no one else knows how to plan.. Well my point is managers like these are growing in numbers and its sad.. Very happy for you though I should of finished my schooling then I wouldn't be where i'm at now.
